Jorge Mestre is a candidate for the open seat in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit for the Florida Bar Board of Governors.  Attorneys in the Eleventh Circuit should receive their ballots in the mail by approximately March 1, 2008.  See his personal statement.

Andrés Rivero recently successfully negotiated a severance package for Miami Downtown Development Authority executive Director Dana Nottingham, as reported by the Miami Herald.

Andrés Rivero successfully prosecuted a whistleblower claim on behalf of whistleblower Mary Conway based on her wrongful termination from her position as Chief Operating Officer for the City of Miami.  The case was resolved in a settlement approved by the Miami City Commission in December 2007.

Eduardo Palmer spoke in November 2007 at Miami Beach at a conference entitled “International Commercial Arbitration in Latin America: the ICC perspective,” presented by the International Chamber of Commerce.

Jorge A. Mestre, in July 2007, was appointed Vice-Chair of the Civil Litigation Committee of the Dade County Bar Association.

Eduardo Palmer will coach and travel with University of Florida law students in March 2008 to participate in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition in Vienna. Rivero Palmer & Mestre sponsored the team.

Eduardo Palmer will be a featured speaker at the Sixth Annual International Litigation and Arbitration Conference in March 2008 presented by the International Law Section of the Florida Bar.

Eduardo Palmer is recognized as a “Top Lawyer” by the South Florida Legal Guide.

Andrés Rivero, Eduardo Palmer, and Jorge A. Mestre are recognized as Florida Legal Elite 2007 by Florida Trend Magazine (voted for by members of the Florida Bar).

Eduardo Palmer is recognized in "Best Lawyers in America" under the areas of commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Andrés Rivero was appointed in 2006 by the Governor of Florida as a Commissioner to the Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judicial Nominating Commission.

Jorge A. Mestre was a co-drafter of the Amicus Curiae Brief of CABA in Support of the United States of America filed in United States of America v. Guerrero, et al., (“Cuban Spy” case) United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, Case Nos. 01-17176-BB and 03-11087-BB (2006).
